Christien Dijkhuizen’s drawings and prints show closed forms of lines and areas of color central to the sheet.

With watercolor pencil and fineliner, Christien draws a landscape experience. You can see a map or labyrinth, a maze or diamond in it.

They are “inner worlds” where peace and contentment reign. The balanced combinations of sparkling colors within set lines create a fairy tale world of their own, an ideal world perhaps?

The interplay of lines gives a 3D experience to the viewer.

In addition to drawing, Christien also specializes in graphic printing techniques such as screen and lino printing.

In 2015, she received her degree in autonomous visual arts from ArtEZ in Arnhem.
