Christien Dijkhuizen
the forest is a mood
Christien Dijkhuizen’s drawings and prints show closed forms of lines and areas of color central to the sheet.
With watercolor pencil and fineliner, Christien draws a landscape experience.
You can see in them a map or labyrinth, a maze or diamond.
They are “inner worlds” where peace and contentment reign. The balanced combinations of sparkling colors within defined lines create a fairy tale world of their own, an ideal world perhaps?
The interplay of lines gives the viewer a 3D experience.
In addition to drawing, Christien also specializes in graphic printing techniques such as screen printing and lino printing.
In 2015, she received her degree in autonomous visual arts from ArtEZ in Arnhem.
