Willemien van Gurp draws, makes collages on paper and compositions with found objects.

In her work, allowing chance plays a major role. There is no preconceived plan but she allows it to emerge so that she herself is always surprised.

During the weekend, Willemien will show mostly colorful collage drawings. Drawings for which she was guided by the form of Icelandic newspaper tears. One drawing provokes another drawing because of the resulting gap.

28 drawings are also featured in Annette van der Laan’s book of poetry. She will come to present her debut “Want waar ik grijpen wil is leegte” on Sunday, March 9. It has become a special collaboration.

In addition, Willemien will exhibit compositions of finds, edited or otherwise.
